FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 24, 2019

ZACH BURKHART OF THE SKYLANDS KINGS NA3HL TEAM COMMITS TO UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE!
Skylands Ice World, in Stockholm, NJ, home to the Skylands Kings youth and Junior Hockey, announce today, the commitment of Zach Burkhart to the University of Louisville, ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), Division II College Ice Hockey Program.

Zach Burkhart, a 5’10” forward, hails from Frisco, TX. Zach played in 47 games for the Kings in the 2018-19 season, tallying 17 goals and 29 assists. He is a smooth skating 2-way center that has the ability to see the ice well and set up his teammates as a great play maker. The University of Louisville has a solid level of ACHA hockey while having a more attractive program than some NCAA D3 programs. Louisville offers the opportunity to play at a big southern college with a solid fan base while getting a great education in a city that was voted a Top US Destination.

“Zach comes to us from the Dallas area, after playing for John Paul II, he moved on to play in the NA3HL with the Skylands Kings where Zach was able to grow both off the ice, and on – becoming a point-per-game player. We are very excited to add this great young man and player to the program”, Stated Louisville Head Coach Brian Graham.

“We are very excited to watch Zach progress at the College level. We had the privilege to watch Zach grow into a very competitive hockey player. He came to the rink and worked every day with a smile on his face and was a great addition to our leadership group last season”, said Skylands Coach Adam Mitchell. “His team first mentality coupled with his skating and passing ability will set him up for success at Louisville. Good Luck Zach!”
